Section 4 - Equipment

The section Geothermics & Information Systems makes use of the central IT infrastructure of the Hannover Geocenter. This infrastructure consists of a Windows computer network and various standard software. This infrastructure is maintained by a central IT department.

Beyond it, the section runs own computers (workstations, servers, web servers) for special scientific applications (e.g. ArcGIS™, GoCAD™).

For the purposes of software development, a wide spectrum of programming tools (Java, C ++, PHP, Fortran, Eclipse™, Subversion™, UMN Mapserver™, GMT™ etc.) is in use.
