Geophysics Information System
The Geophysics Information System has been developed to support research at the Leibniz Institute for Applied Geophysics (LIAG) and of its partner institutions working on joint research projects. The information system allows querying, visualization and interpretation of measurements from different geophysical methods.
The system implementation has been essentially completed, whereas the enlarging of datasets, the inclusion of more geophysical methods and the maintenance of the software solution will be carried out as continuous tasks of LIAG. Access to the system is being provided through a powerful web interface so that it can be used by LIAG’s partners and by the science community.
By the EU project GEOMIND (successfully finished in 2008), the system has been integrated in a European Geophysics Data Infrastructure. This integration process has to be continued within the European INSPIRE initiative.
