Stable Isotope Laboratory

In the stable isotope laboratory of the section S3 of our institute water samples are analyzed for the isotopes deuterium and oxygen-18 for the research fields hydrology, hydrogeology and enviroment. In additon, carbonate samples are analyzed fro carbon-13 and oxygen-18. The laboratory is equipped with a Thermo Finnigan Delta XP Plus IRMS with a continuous and dual inlet system, pariperals are an H-device for hydrogen, and a gas bench for oxygen-18 and carbon-13. 

All isotope measurements are calibrated to international reference materials and the measurement precision complies with the current state-of-the art.
