Seismic sources and acquisition techniques

Advanced methods of high-resolution, reflection seismic are applied to meet our goal of gaining insight into structures and processes in the anthropogenic-affected subsurface. To achieve this new instruments are developed, if they not otherwise available. LIAG has rich experience in this field, starting with heavy drop-weight instruments in the early 1980's, moving to impulse sources and to hydraulic vibrators in the 1990's.

Recently, research and development of shear wave and multi component seismic has gained much attention. Electrodynamic, as well as hydraulic vibrators, have been therefore constructed. We complement this with advancements in acquisition techniques, e.g new cable systems and land streamers that can be used on sealed surfaces.
